Detoxing is a powerful way to maintain a healthy body and mind. A detox is any diet, treatment, or procedure that helps your body’s natural disposal systems get rid of excess toxins.
The Benefits of Detox include:
- Better energy
- Lower blood pressure
- Clear skin
- Smooth digestion
- No stinky sweat
- Pain management (joints, muscles, etc)
- Less inflammation
Over the years, Infinity has collaborated with many wellness professionals who specialize in detox. Our collaborations combined with a drive to live a cleaner, healthier life contributes to a vast knowledge of detox processes.
Many of these detoxes provide a safe and natural solution to your health problems. They can support every aspect of your wellness, from achy joints to emotional well-being.
The first step to detoxification is to clean up your gut. Your gut is the body’s second brain and supporting the gut is essential to living a long and healthy life. A gut detox cleanses toxins and waste from the colon with your diet, supplements, or a combination of the two!
Infinity offers several types of bodywork to support your body’s natural ability to detox. Bodywork like massage and manual lymphatic drainage help your tissues and cells release harmful substances for disposal.
Infinity recommends seasonal detox to support a healthy body and mind. Keep reading to learn more about detox, including Infinity’s detox recommendations at our office, with other practitioners, and at home!
Why You Should Detox Seasonally
In the world of holistic wellness, spring and fall are seasons for detox.
Toxins accumulate over time. In the same way you need to regularly clean the gutters, empty the junk drawer, and take out the trash – you need regular detox to keep your body clean of toxins. When you cleanse out the toxins regularly, you are investing in both your short- and long-term health.
The natural transition of the seasons instigates a transition in your body, which is partially the reason why you get sick during the fall and spring. You can lessen the severity of seasonal illness if you are proactive and support your body with a seasonal detox.
Detox awakens your inner healing capabilities. It puts you in touch with your body and forces you to nurture and care for yourself in a way that you may not do in your daily life. For that reason, detox is always a great time to reflect on balance.
Infinity recommends seasonal detoxes – two or ideally four times a year!
How To Do a Gut Detox
Your body works hard to get rid of anything harmful, but it doesn’t always succeed. The environment you live in is increasingly toxic, which makes it difficult for the natural systems to keep up. Not to mention parasites, harmful bacteria, processed food, and other substances that overload your system and make it hard to detox naturally.
When you do a gut detox, you are removing any harmful substances stored in the body. A gut detox isn’t as simple as changing your diet. Your body accumulates toxins and other harmful substances in your fat cells, and it will often take more than a diet change to get rid of them.
These are a few of the gut detox protocols we’ve tried and recommended to our clients!
Infinity’s Recommended Gut Detoxes
1. Parasite Cleanse
Infinity suggests a parasite cleanse as part of your gut detox. Parasites are a particularly tricky toxin to get rid of since they reproduce on different cycles. One may reproduce weekly, others monthly – and you can only find them in a stool test when they live in the intestinal tract and produce eggs that end up in your stool.
As unpleasant as it is to think about, many of us have parasites living in our gut. A regular parasite cleanse is like a fresh start for your body.
Here is a link to more information about the parasite cleanse or contact us for Infinity’s protocol to get started.
2. The Prime
Ayurveda is an ancient healing tradition that recommends seasonal detoxes. The Prime is a modern version of an Ayurvedic cleanse that doesn’t require massive changes to your diet and exercise routines. It combines Ayurveda with modern science to flush the gut and heal the body.
Some detox programs exhaust your system and put unnecessary strain on your body. I’ve always found The Prime to be supremely gentle and easy to add to my normal routine. Check out The Prime book by Kulreet Chaudhary for more information and instructions!
3. Clean Eats
Clean Eats is a book by Alejandro Junger with easy-to-make, healthy recipes that support detoxification. It helps you eliminate inflammatory foods from your diet – including processed sugar, gluten, dairy, and red meat.
These foods are inflammatory in everyone and inflammation in the gut can lead to a variety of health issues. But eliminating foods from your diet is difficult, especially if you don’t have a lot of time to cook and plan meals.
If you want to make lasting changes to your diet, Clean Eats will start you off with over 200 healthy recipes. Check out the Clean Eats book for more information!
Integrative Bodywork for Detox
The lymph system is part of the immune system that removes harmful substances from the body. It carries them from the extremities via lymph fluid and deposits them in the lymph nodes.
Infinity Flexibility uses Phyto5 lymphatic drainage to help the lymph system pull harmful substances to the lymph nodes. This mechanical massage is soothing and therapeutic – and many of our clients crave the full, healthy-looking skin that results!
Massage is another type of bodywork that supports detoxification. It increases circulation and helps move lymph fluid. Not only that, but massage encourages your body to return to its rest-and-digest state.
Rest-and-digest is the opposite of fight-or-flight. So many people exist in a constant state of stress and overwhelm, which wreaks havoc on your body.
When you are in rest-and-digest, your body can perform all the natural detox processes that keep the body clear of metabolic waste quickly and keep your toxic load to a minimum.
What is a detox massage?
A detox massage uses gentle strokes to pull the lymph fluid from the extremities to the lymph nodes for disposal. Phyto5 lymphatic drainage is a mechanical detoxing massage that uses gentle cupping. Both lymphatic drainage and massage are powerful tools to support you during detox.

Where Should You Start?
Infinity recommends you start with 1) a balanced diet with seasonal gut detoxes, 2) proper hydration with filtered water, 3) a regular sleep routine, and 4) detoxing bodywork to support your physical health and wellness.
Other activities that will support your body during detox include:
- Home coffee enemas
- Colonics
- Detox baths with Epsom salts, sea salt, and baking soda (equal parts) to rehydrate your body and skin
- Infrared sauna to help with weight loss, lower blood pressure, etc. Use 20 minutes after exercise to help with delayed onset muscle soreness.
Detox requires body awareness because without it you can put a lot of strain on your body. Pay attention to how you feel throughout the process! It’s natural to feel tired or worn out, especially if you’ve never detoxed before. Take it easy and allow your body time to heal!
